Microsoft sat down with Jorg Neumann a studio manager at Microsoft Game Studios who gave some information about the game coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360. Within the interview they discuss how Frontier Games are bringing their experiences form past games into making Zoo Tycoon. It will add Kinect functionality similar to the stuff found in Kinectimals and combine that with the strategy elements present in the previous Zoo Tycoon.
Frontier is responsible for Rollercoaster Tycoon which was always a treat to play growing up, and as they make use of the cloud to make this a fun Xbox Live/Social experience it seems like it will be a lot of fun. Allowing four players to co-operatively run a zoo, load/trade animals between zoos, and just simply interacting with other zoos in the community.
Any game that takes strides in realizing that strategy games don’t need to be these independent experiences that offer no wiggle room for multiplayer (besides the rare 1v1 versus garbage) has my attention.
I look forward to learning more about this title that could be a nice change of pace game to grab on your next-gen system that will be loaded with over-the-top action.
