Electronic Arts announced this afternoon that CEO John Riccitiello would be leaving the company on March 30th. The announcement came as the company also warned that 4th quarter results might fall short of expectations. The EA board of directors have named Larry Probst as Executive Chairman while they search for a new permeant CEO. “After six years I feel it is the right time for me pass the baton and let new leadership take the Company into its next phase of innovation and growth”, Riccitiello said in a statement. This isn’t the first time Probst has run the company, he served as CEO from 1991 till 2007 when Riccitiello took over.
