Agent Cross is back and after all the sneaking around in the last issue he is a little more guns blazing this time. He is putting together a plan to protect Bron after getting burned in the last issue. We only get to see the first portion of the plan this issue but I am enjoying where it is going so far. Partially because he brings Candra Tymon in on the plan and then had to stop her from beating him senseless. Once he explains what is going on she agrees to help for Bron’s sake. The conversations she has with Cross are worth the price alone.
Star Wars: Agent of the Empire – Hard Targets #4 puts a lot of pieces in play that should pay off in #5, but the setup was also really fun to see. There is an underwater battle that really shows off some of the fun art this series has. The change of scenery was a bit surprising since so often we find Agent Cross in urban locations. The outcome of that situation though was entirely predictable. Despite completely knowing what was about to happen I enjoyed that section anyway. I just hope the writers can come up with more unique plot points going forward.
The issue ends setting things up for a great conclusion to in Star Wars: Agent of the Empire – Hard Targets #5. We’ll have to see if things stay fairly predictable but even if they do I think it will still turn out to be a good overall story. The characters are just so much fun to see in action and I think we’ll be getting a lot of that.
