This morning Bioware revealed the first paid expansion for it’s free to play MMO Star Wars The Old Republic. Coming in the Spring of 2013 the Rise of the Hutt Cartel will be available for both Free and subscribed players. As of now we only have a few details on what the expansion includes. First players will be able to continue their epic journey on the new planet of Makeb. THe storyline will feature full voice acting as you uncover the plot of the Hutt Cartel to become the new galactic superpower.
The player level cap will be raised to 55, and you’ll have the chance to learn new skills and abilities and of course new gear. There is still more to be announced as the Spring 2013 launch nears. It’s safe to assume that we’ll see new flashpoints, warzones and space combat as well, but those all have been content updates we’ve received over the past year in the free updates, so it’s not to surprising to see more tied to the update.
Subscribers can grab the expansion for $9.99 while free-to-play gamers will have to lay out $19.99. Also if you pre0order before January 7th you’ll get access to the new content 5 days early.
