According to a former writer here at VGRevolution.com, Microsoft is contacting people who have been a member of the service for 10 years and obtaining address information in order to mail them a “special gift.”

Shawn gave us more insight on the call he received  seemed that Microsoft is picking random users who have been with the Xbox Live service since day 1.

If anyone else gets a call please let us know in the comments.

We’ve reached out to Major Nelson and Microsoft in order to verify this and to hopefully get an idea if this will be widespread. Details will follow as we receive them.

I was in the beta in 2002 before Live launched, and my profile still only says 9 years. If they’re counting from the official launch, it won’t be 10 years until November. Which means nobody has 10 years on their account yet.

Which is why I smell something fishy.

I have a friend who was also in the beta. His account rolled over to 10 years a couple of months ago.
