NBC is allowing us to view the first episode of Revolution before it airs tonight at 10pm after The Voice. The show is brought to us by J.J. Abrams and is currently one of the hottest directors that are out there. I am always excited about any project that is brought to us by Mr. Abrams. I enjoyed his movies from Cloverfield to Super 8 and his TV shows from Alcatraz to Fringe. His work is always a little sci-fi but the masses have always enjoyed it.
So seeing that Alcatraz got cancelled and Fringe is entering it’s finally season, will Revolution be the show that continues his legacy on the tube? The show picks up after 15 years where everything went dark. From lights, TV, cars and anything that needed help to run. There are also people who hold certain objects that can power objects for a short period of time.
After watching the pilot, I became very disappointed in the vision that the show went. In 15 years we have fallen back to the pirate years. There are very few guns and some fights are fought with swords. Yes, swords. Also like any other Abrams show, there is not many clues about what is going on. We don’t find out why the blackout happen and we see very few details about the government in the time period.
I was really hoping to enjoy this show. I fell in love with Lost when the show started. Revolution has a lot of potential and could be a great series. The show has a great time slot being after The Voice. Which is one of the highest rated shows on TV right now. I hope Revolution proves me wrong.
