I probably said this last month but I’m hopelessly hooked on Epic Kill.  Song is just so much fun.  This issue especially so as she has a couple of day dreaming moments where we get to see what she is really capable of if she does not restrain herself.  Setting those pages aside though this issue is still a really great way to draw the initially story line to a close. I don’t want to spoil the specific but Song does get what she is seeking and yet the people behind the scenes in the political portion of the story seem to as well.

The action in Epic Kill #5 is great.  There are less of the large group fights for Song this time, but instead we get to see her as she has to escape environmental dangers and overcome her injuries.  The sequence that shows how she survived the end of issue #4 was especially revealing.  Even when she was ready to let her guard down and give in her training would not allow it.  She fights on even if her heart were to no longer be in it.  How much more deadly will she be when she is emotionally invested in the fight?

Epic Kill #5 is mostly about wrapping up the end of our first story arc, but it also starts to plant the seeds for the next one.  While we don’t have a lot of info about that yet the little hints we get look pretty promising.  If you’ve been keeping up with the Epic Kill series then #5 should be a great issue for you to enjoy next week.  If you have not been then you really should grab the first 4 issues and catch up.
