KontrolFreek is about to launch their first Signature Edition Thumbstick adapter with the FPS Freek CQC(Close Quarters) Signature Edition. This new version of the CQC has a unique convex/concave design, laser etched logo and new grip material giving gamers even more control.
Like the original CQC this adapter has a lower profile compared to the other FPS Freek adapters, which for me is the best part of it. I was never a fan of the longer thumbsticks that the other adapters give you. The CQC gives you the right amount of height to give you the increased accuracy without making it uncomfortable after many hours of play. Also the new grip material used for the Signature Edition is much tackier then that used in other FPS Freek products which prevents your thumbs from slipping around in fast firefights.
The only downside to the KontrolFreek product line is how they connect to your thumbstick. The tight clip that attaches the adapter to the controller thumbstick has caused the standard controller rubber grip material to tear off on the edges. If you plan on using any KontrolFreek products I would suggest leaving them permanently attached, no matter how carefully I remove them I always cause damage to the edge rubber on my thumbstick. I have begun to use only one controller as my KontrolFreek controller when playing FPS titles.
But besides the issue with removing them from my XBox 360 controller the new Signature Series FPS Freek CQC is a great product. Of all the KontrolFreek Adapters it’s by far my favorite, as it mixes comfort and performance perfectly.
The FPS Freak CQC – Signature Series launches on August 21st, you can pre-order it here today.
