This review contains some spoilers for this issue and the next.
In this issue of The Goon we really don’t see him that much. The issue tells us of a tale about a demonic witch doctor. People go to this witch doctor and ask for a favor. What they want and what hey get are two different things. Then usually The Goon comes and has to save the day.
I enjoyed the story but this story has been told many of times before. What I think sets this story apart are the wishes and the affects they have on them. Also the role The Goon plays, is kept very secret. We really can not see the connection between the Witch Doctor and Goon that easy. How does The Goon end up saving humanity each time? It is a two partner, so I look forward to seeing what happens in the second issue.
One thing that stands out for this issue of The Goon is the artwork. The attention to the detail and the atmosphere it sets up is amazing. I haven’t been a long time reader of The Goon, but i have seen some great artwork. From different environments to different situations, the artwork is always amazing.
