There are some spoilers in my review this week. If you want to be surprised better stop here.
So we’re three issues into Star Wars: Knight Errant – Escape and with only two more left I still find myself not that satisfied with the series. It is not that they are bad, but the ideas of the story seems like they could be more fun that what it has been so far. First off Kerra is still making stupid mistakes while working with the Sith and pretending to be one of them. When a character is smart enough to come up with an elaborate plan I expect them to also be smart enough to not make a mess of it themselves. Kerra seems bent on giving away her real identity at every turn and that just bugs me.
Fortunately, before the end of Star Wars: Knight Errant – Escape #3 she can finally leave the group she has been with and get back to just being a Jedi. I’m hoping this means that in the last 2 issues of the Star Wars: Knight Errant – Escape series we will not have to deal with that type of thing anymore. It seems like things are setting up for a pretty nice battle in issue #4. While there were plenty of battles this issue not many actually involved Kerra. Instead we get a fair bit of back story.
I’m still holding out that this series will end in a way that is unique and interesting. The potential is there. We’re in area and time of the Star Wars universe that is so unrelated to the movies that there is no real risk in doing something unusual. Fingers crossed that next month will catch us off-guard with where things go.
