After the first couple issues of Planetoid I was not expecting the turn the story has taken in #3.  Silas in the first couple comics seems like a man of action without a lot of patience. In this issue we see that he is more than that.  He has taken the tribe of nomads he became the leader of and has started expanding.  It is interesting to see how a little hope if contagious and pulls in a lot of different types of survivors.

While Planetoid #3 has a lot of build up in it there are a couple confrontations.  Silas shows he is not afraid to use force when needed and we see that Ono Mao is aware of their group.  I suspect that in the next issue we’ll see a larger conformation between Silas’ tribe and the bots. In a way this issue feels like the calm before a storm.  It is really enjoyable but you can sense that something big is coming.  Plus, even knowing it is on the way you have no idea how it will play out.

The part I enjoyed most about Planetoid #3 is how you get a real feel for this group of people trapped on a planet. They have really started to work together to make life better for their whole group.  They are making the best of a terrible situation, but over the course of a few months they have a life that is much better than they were before.  Next month we’ll have to see how Ono Mao responds, but this change of pace in Planetoid #3 is great.
