This review contains spoilers for the issue and the series
Before I do my review. I need to state that I did not know anything about Axe Cop and the universe he lives in. I did not read the first go around or did not know that this was written by children or Fox was making it into a cartoon. After reading the issue, then finding the first and reading that and then searching the world-wide web for more information, I have mixed emotions about this comic.
First lets talk about the good stuff. It is a fun story to read and I look forward to the cartoon. For an 8-year-old, this is a very fun story that has a lot of stuff you did as a kid. For an example when the Devil gets stabbed, this doesn’t kill him because stabbing the devil doesn’t kill him. We find out later in the issue what can actually kill the Devil. This reminded me back in the day as a kid. And the story is very face moving. You pick it up and theres not a slow moment.
Now the small minor stuff that was off with this issue. I love The Simpsons and attention to detail. In this issue and last we clearly knew the writer was 8 but somehow in the first couple pages they made an accident and said 7. Cmon Dark Horse you are better than this. And for any Simpsons buff, we know to start off season 21, Comic Book Guy creates Everyman. Well what will the most evil person in the world be called? Everyman? Hmm I know it’s two different things but just way to close.
The comic is a fun read and you will have a good laugh. You must let your imagination take over and don’t take it too serious like I did. Going to try to find the first Axe Cop series and check it out.
