The Cape 1969 is a new comic brought to us by IDW Publishing. Jason Ciaramella writes it and Nelson Daniel does the artwork. The story originates from a short work written by Joe Hill. It follows the story of Eric Chase who discoveries a Cape with special powers. Hopefully in the story we will find out the power behind the Cape and the affects it has on him.
The story starts off in 1969 during the Vietnam War. We see a group of soldiers on a helicopter entering into enemy territory. This is where the drama begins and the helicopter gets shot down. We then follow the survivors and see if they can out-run the enemy. Do they get away or do they get caught? And does the special power Cape appears in this issue?
I really enjoy the concept of this comic But I want to see how the story pans out first, before I commit to saying whether I enjoy this comic or not. Usually when I think of a cape wearing person, I think of Batman or Superman and they are both typical super heroes. Will a soldier be able to pull of cape wearing? We shall see.
