Before I started to write for this website, which most of these article take place, I was just an average pop culture fan. I do have a passion for some things. My two biggest hobbies are The Simpsons and collecting vinyl toys. But I always try and keep up with the latest in Movies, TV and Comics. So it has always been a dream of mine to attend Comic Con in San Diego. But I work at a golf course and it is kind of hard to say to your boss that your going take a few days off while the grass is dying.

Well that all changed during last summer. This is what I am going to consider my first waiting experience. The Simpsons, my favorite TV show was up for new contract negotiations. There was a brief time where I did not think they would sign and there would be no new Simpson’s episodes. Now first thing that went threw my head was, what am I going do on Sunday nights? But then it dawn on me, what if I never attended a Simpson’s panel at comic con? So once Fox and the actors reached an agreement, I told my boss I would be taking some time off next July to attend San Diego Comic Con.

Then I started to frequent the SDCC website and Facebook page. This is where I would find out they were doing a whole new badge system and that they were going to release the details in the coming months. So another wait began. And then more waiting until news would be delivered through an email. So then the wait on the email began. All of this while checking the Facebook page to see if there were any updates. And then one night people started to say they received it. And now panic mode began to kick in. Did they forget about me? Did my email get deleted some how? Did I sign up for no email updates? I think I hit refresh maybe 5000 times that night but I eventually got it and badges were to go on sale starting Saturday by using the link in the email.

Well now the WAIT for Saturday begun and finally got here. So now I am Waiting for the time to start clicking the link and hoping I get in soon enough to get a badge. ERROR? What? Why is there an error? I start checking the Facebook page and people were getting in by copy and pasting the link. I do that and I enter into the line at 21,000. Crap will I still get a ticket? Well by the time I was called only Thursday and Sunday tickets were left so I passed. So the WAIT began for returns, which at that time were to be given sometime in June. But then an email came and said they would be doing an early return sale for us. So this time, learning from the past, I copied and pasted the link and I entered in at 1200. Got my badges and I was off to Comic Con.

But then this is when I learned that Comic Con is one big WAIT. I joined the best forum I could find, FriendsofCCI.com, which if anybody needs any info I would highly suggest going over there. Everybody is very nice and a great help. So I started asking the general questions, like when to get there for the big panels and to get exclusives. This is when I learned I would be getting there early and just waiting for the Con to open. For my exclusive vinyl toys, I’ve been told to get there maybe 2 to 3 hours early. And for the big panels people will be camping out over night. I could not believe this.

Comic Con is soon to be upon us and the schedule is being released and the floor plan is also out. I am going through the exclusives and panels and artists to see whom I want to try to get interviews for. Hopefully I will be able to bring some good articles to the site during the week. Next week a day before the Con begins I will bring you all the info on the top panels and exclusives that everybody will be after those 5 days in July.
