With all of the Star Wars movies, book and comics released, when I started reading the Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm comics that I had never really thought about how the Jedi were formed.  If you have been keeping up with the Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm series then you already have learned how the Jedi initially started out and how they sought to find balance in the force.  Over the first 4 comics in the series it also seems like we are getting a partial look at how the Sith were formed.

The first comic of the series was a little slow for my taste as it was mostly the history of how the different races in the Jedi formed on the world of Tython.  Fortunately in the next three comics things picked up as we follow the story of Je’daii Journererys Shae, Tasha and Sek’nos and their shared vision leading them to find Xesh, a force hound, whose ship crashed on Tython killing everyone else on board.

I really enjoyed the Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm series and seeing how the early Jedi were in tune with the Force in such a way that it could effect the whole planet and how they were first learning new abilities that we later see as fairly common for Jedi to use.  Not only that but the Jedi getting introduced to lightsabers by Xesh was a fun touch.

Book 1 of the Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm series wraps up with issue #5 and I enjoyed seeing how it played out.  The differences be Jedi being almost impossible for the other to understand.  Yet, in the end both were able to at least understand each other just a little bit.  In addition to seeing both of the force like this it was fun to see a battle where enemies had also to deal with the environment and its beast as well as each other.  Issue #5 is set to release on June 20, 2012 and already I’m looking forward to seeing where things go with Book 2.
