**Update 4: Service has been restored. No word on the reason for the outage.**
**Update 3: Playstation Official twitter just sent the following tweet: ” We are aware that some of you are having issues accessing PSN, and we’re working to restore service to all. Thank you for your patience.”**
**Update 2: Some users are now being presented with a “Maintenance” message when trying to login through iOS App. Still no word from Sony on what the maintenance is and how long it will last. We would like to remind you that this message is generic and was displayed during the outage last year do the system hacking, so while this might be merely a maintenance outage, it very well could be a larger system issue
We were sent the picture below from Twitter user @frecle0_0

For the last hour or so Playstation users have been unable to login into the Playstation Network. Login is failing through consoles, Vita and even their website is returning a 500 error. Consoles users when trying to login are getting an Error 8071053D. This error suggests to reboot the system, reboot network devices, of course all remedies fail to fix the issue. There was no announcement about weekend maintenance and currently SCEA and the various Playstation social media accounts have been mum about the outage and when users can expect the service to return.
Could we be looking at another hacker attack? Or has the new surge in Playstation plus subscribers crippled their system? We’ll bring you updates as we find out more.
**Update 1: We are receiving reports this outage is due to a 14 hour maintenance and service should resume at 5am, though we can’t confirm this through any PSN channels These reports were based off an old maintenance delay**
