Earlier today EA held it’s annual Pre-E3 media briefing, showing off the titles that will be arriving over the next year or so. EA had quite a bit to show off from new games to new DLC for current titles.
To kick off the event we got our first look of Dead Space 3. Dead Space 3 will send players on an exhilarating and hair-raising new adventure in the dead of winter 2013. After crash-landing on a hostile new planet known as Tau Volantis, hero Isaac Clarke discovers that this planet could be the key to ending the Necromorph infestation. In his violent hunt for answers, Isaac must battle subzero, icy conditions and deadly, highly-evolved enemies including all-new Necromorphs, gigantic boss creatures and even misguided zealot humans. Fortunately, Isaac is not alone. Players can choose to team-up with a friend anytime in the game with the fully integrated drop-in/drop-out co-op feature. Players that choose to take down the terror together will experience additional story details and gameplay mechanics only found when playing as the co-op character, Earthgov Sergeant John Carver. The bit of Dead Space 3 that we saw looked really great, the worlds seem much more massive and the weapons you have at your disposal look to be more powerful and devastating. Look for Dead Space 3 in 2013.
Next up for new chapters in hit EA games, is SimCity. The city builder that started it all is back and better than ever. With new ways to build and create the city of your dreams. Plus there is neat multiplayer and living world aspects of the game. Now you can play with friends and work together to complete objectives. Everything we have seen so far for SimCity looks really promising and seeing gameplay today really has me psyched for one of the classic PC games of my childhood.
To further extend the life of Battlefield 3 EA will be launching Battlefield 3 Premium. For $49.99 gamers will get ALL the additional DLC content for Battlefield 3, plus you’ll get other perks like early DLC access, special weapons, camo and dog tags as well.

Moving onto a rather new EA release, Star Wars the Old Republic is getting a whole lot of content in the near future. SWTOR gamers can expect a raised level cap, new abilities, a new companion, new warzone, new planet and much more. On top of the new content starting next month Star Wars The Old Republic will be free to play up to level 15. So if you haven’t experienced the SWTOR world yet you should next month!
Medal of Honor Warfighter is the next FPS coming out of EA, and after finally seeing some gameplay today I must say the game is just there. There isn’t anything bad about it but there isn’t anything great and standout about it either. It seems to fall in-between Battlefield and Call of Duty, and really doesn’t have anything that makes it unique beside the possible interesting story-lines of Tier One Operators.
Now it’s time to talk about EA Sports. Big things are happening in the sports world. The big news was that EA Sports has signed a multi-year deal with the UFC. No word on when the first game will hit stores but we can only assume it will be rather soon as the team was always developing MMA 2 so one would think they just need to apply the UFC look and feel and we should have a new AMAZING MMA title soon.
Madden NFL 13 got a little stage time as well. This year gamers can expect a brand new physics engine which is going to lead to a new playing Madden game. The engine will give you a more varied look to hits instead of the same animations over and over, plus players will react and move realistically so you’ll find ball carriers trying to regain balance and stretching out plays. The game like many of the other EA Sports titles is also getting major connection features allowing you to connect and play with friends in new ways. You’ll be able to play online careers and start from day one in the NFL and play through your retirement, all the while interacting both in game and online on your phone, computer or tablet. FIFA 13 is also receiving some love in the physics and connection departments as well.
Racers should get ready because Need For Speed Most Wanted is being rebooted. The game is choke full of open world mayhem, where your activities are all tracked and ranked against your friends through NFS Autolog. Most Wanted was a great Xbox launch title and this new version looks to build off that originals fast pace action.
And to close the event EA showed off Crysis 3. Picking up where Crysis 2 left off the game looked downright amazing. I loved the action and look of Crysis 2 and I was happy to see Crysis 3 looking and playing very similar.
