The world of Orcs and Goblins is under threat by the Empire of Men. Now both factions must join forces to fight off this threat. Of Orcs and Men is a new RPG from Focus Home Entertainment and Cyanide Studios. At E3 we had a chance to see the game in action, and I was really surprised. There are plenty of typical RPG elements but also a really neat system in place allowing you to control with ease both your Orc and Goblin character who fight side by side throughout the game.

The Orc character is a tank, able to take lots of damage a deal powerful blows, the Goblin on the other hand is all about stealth and tactics, he might not have the brute power of the Orc but he does have some devastating dark powers he can harness. Both of the character compliment each other well and gamers will need to learn how to jump between both character during battle to be most effective. Luckily there is a nice radial command system that allows you to queue up abilities for each character. And when you are commanding the action doesn’t stop but there is a neat slo-mo effect that kicks in so you don’t get torn apart trying to flip through various offensive and defensive moves.

As I have said you’ll be playing both character throughout the majority of the game and most of the time they are side by side, but there will be instances where you’ll be spit up and mirroring each other. During these times you’ll still need to play both the Orc and Goblin in tandem as their actions help each other progress though the level.

Of Orcs and Men is a very interesting RPG title and some of the abilities were really neat to see during action, my favorite is the Orc’s ability to just through the Goblin into a group of enemies for a surprise attack. Of Orcs and Men will be available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
