SteelSeries Diablo III Mouse Review

Are you planning to spend hours within the world of Diablo III and still have a basic mouse? Well SteelSeries is here once again to give you the edge in your game, with the Diablo III mouse. Like the Diablo III Headset the mouse is themed to the game and offers great form and function.

The Diablo III mouse sports 7 programmable buttons, and a sleek low profile design that can be used by right-handed or left-handed gamers with the same comfort. The button design finds two additional button on either side of the mouse. In Diablo III you’ll be able to set various abilities of your liking to each button, though like other mice with more than 5 buttons you’ll only be able to map 5 of the buttons in other games, this isn’t an issue with the mouse but just due to Windows only supporting 5 mice buttons. With the SteelSeries software you can control all aspect of the mouse and customize it to your liking.

I must say since using these various gaming mice from SteelSeries, I can’t even go back to any basic mouse. Not only do these mice just feel great in your hand, but having the additional buttons really does give you more control in-game. Unlike some of the other SteelSeries mice I’ve played with, the Diablo III mouse takes a low profile streamlined approach. This is great as it allows lefties to use the mouse, but I kinda miss the larger size of other gaming mice. I have become really accustomed to having the thumb/pinky rests, and this mouse lacks both. For those that don’t use a larger gaming mouse on a normal basis, or still have the standard mouse that came with their PC, then you won’t notice this difference.

The theme of the mouse is just like the Diablo III Headset from SteelSeries, it is black with gray and red accents. The lights on the mouse glow a demonic red and can be set to pulse. Like the headset the mouse looks really badass. Even if you aren’t a Diablo player/fan you’ll really like the look of the mouse.

SteelSeries continues to impress me with their high performance gaming peripherals. The Diablo III gaming mouse is a great item for any PC gamer looking to gain the edge in Diablo III or just about any other game. The Diablo III mouse not only boasts great features to give you the edge in gaming, but it does it with style.
