Wow I can’t believe it has been 10 years since Microsoft shook up the game industry with the launch of the Xbox. I’m sure we all have some amazing memories of the Xbox and the countless hours we’ve spent playing. Here are some of mine:
I remember my first interaction with the Xbox as my brother and I spent 48 hours in NYC at the “Xbox Unleashed” Event. Which was a night filled with gaming, free Taco Bell and Sobe.
Then who can forget the amazing Halo and the epic story that began a decade ago.
Speaking of Halo how many of you remember getting your first taste of online play using PC software and you Xbox to create VPN networks to play the system link version with people over the internet, oh the first taste of XBox Live.
I’ll always remember that at one time EA didn’t want to publish games for the Xbox, and so Microsoft came out with their own sports titles and boy was NFL Fever an amazing football game.
Xbox Live Beta what a treat that was, not only could I play with a small group of people with ease over the internet but we had our own forums on xbox.com and the Beta Ball icon!
The Xbox was an amazing system and it spawned the Xbox 360, Xbox Live and HD graphics in a slick bundle.
Over the years the Xbox 360 has been gaining ground on the established competition and the games that have made their home on Xbox have not only propelled the system in new heights but have truly revolutionized the gaming industry.
So we say Happy Birthday Xbox we have loved you for a decade and can’t wait for the future. For some neat pictures of the last 10 year of Xbox head over here.
Let us in on your fondest memories and thoughts on the last decade of Xbox gaming and where you think it’s going.
