If you managed to sign into Nintendo’s eShop before 11:59 PM on August 11, then you should automatically be a Nintendo Ambassador, allowing you to download 20 free games onto your 3DS starting September 1. You would have also gotten a little message that popped up in your eShop News icon confirming your “membership.”
But, what if you signed in at 11:59:45, forgot to update your 3DS, or cannot remember getting that little message? The only thing left to do is wait until September 1 to be let down by the realization that you will have to pay for half of those games and never have the chance to play Wario Ware Inc. on your 3DS ever again.
Fear not.
Thankfully, Nintendo knows your plight, and has created a serial number checker that will inform you if you’re an ambassador or not. All you need to do is go to their website, type in your 3DS serial number, and breathe a sigh of relief…or face the inevitable.
