Deep Silver has announced today that Dead Island is now available for pre-purchase through Steam. Not exactly stellar news, except for the fact that if you have three friends ready to buy it you can get quite the deal:

Four of you can get together and purchase a 4-copy bundle for $149.97, essentially letting you each get your own copy of the game for $39.99 instead of the standard $49.99 for the PC version. I can’t wait for the day where we can do that on the 360 or PS3, so developers can give gamers even more incentive to check out their co-op title or just to buy their game in-general.

On top of that, whether you pre-purchase a single copy or the bundle, you’ll get the Ripper exclusive preorder weapon – if you recall the Ripper is a combo bat/buzzsaw, great for hedge trimming, etc. AND you’ll also get the first DLC pack, Bloodbath Arena, for free when it releases. Bloodbath Arena is a separate game mode with four different arenas where you’ll encounter waves after wave of zombies to kill and loot. Then you can take all the money and weapons and bring them into your regular game.

So go to the Deep Silver Steam Page for more details, you can enjoy the zombie hordes on September 6, 2011 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
