The latest iteration of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series from EA Sports broke a franchise first week sales record. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters sold about 225,000 units. This is a 17% increase over the previous 1st week sales record holder Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08. Also year over year, week one console digital revenue for the franchise is estimated to have increased over 200 percent. Though it’s easy to see DLC having such a record jump due to the availability of so many extra courses on day one.
“We expected fans to be excited about the Masters and for sales to be up significantly. We’re pleased that they are,” said Peter Moore, President of EA SPORTS. “Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters has earned rave reviews, and fans have played nearly two million rounds at Augusta National Golf Club during the first two weeks.”
