This weekend Evil Controllers will be partnering with high school team Gamers Go Green from Chicago’s Whitney M. Young High School to bring the first-ever Game Hour. On Saturday, April 23, we will all ask everyone to sit down with their families (work and friend families count!), turn off all of the electricity in every room in the house but one, and then play any game for the duration of an hour. This can be a board game, a video game, or any other type of game at the family’s discretion. With this event, Evil Controllers and Gamers Go Green hope to encourage family bonding while saving our earth some of it’s precious natural resources.

In order to record participation (since it is for a high school biology project after all), we will ask gamers to sign up by writing on the Facebook wall at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Game-Hour/200003243365204, then take videos of their event to upload to YouTube to post on the wall. Photos would be great as well if videos are not available. After the event, photos and videos will be compiled and made into a montage for Evil Controllers’ YouTube channel in gratitude to all participants.

So far, professional gamer Fatal1ty, BHLGaming.com, Optic Nation, Gaming for the Cure, and S.O.S. Gamers are on board to host their own Game Hour events. We would love if you could too!

We’ll also be participating in the event throughout the day, keep an eye on our twitter @vgrevolution for times and Gamertags to look out for.
