Zombie MMO- Unintentional Gun Q&A

A list of information I discovered scavenging through an article about Undead Labs-Zombie MMO

I was skimming over the 89 comments that were on Undead Labs recent article, where UL employee Brant talks about his upbringing, his love for guns, and the team’s stance on mechanics. The internet being a perfect location for an article like this, brought out the waves of gun and zombie fans alike. This left Brant answering questions and giving game details, in a casual yet informative way. I have summed it up below.

1. The game will be more serious compared to Call of Duty in-terms or Run+Gun Accuracy.

2. The arsenal of weapons available in Class3 will be primarily that found in agricultural (rural) areas. Of course the government response failed, but soldiers did show up so make sure to search areas near them.

3. Customization is a huge part of today’s firearm industry and therefore is of great interest to Undead Labs.

4. Finding weapons in logical places may be part of the game. (sorry vast ammo piles and high-end assault rifles in a subway L4d?)

5. Getting a very powerful weapon is only one small part of surviving in this world.

6. If they include having to fix guns they want to do it right. (I know America’s Army had a real simple feature that forced you to hit ‘F’ when your gun jammed. It didn’t happen a ton, but when it did it was terrifying…and that was without zombies.

7.  They have not made any decisions as far as the depth of systems governing weapon care and failure. “Any system we design for that purpose would have to be enjoyable to do.”

8. You can enjoy the comfort of the revolver in your hands in the game.

9. Class3 will include as many weapon variants as makes sense for the setting and of course, as memory and time limits allow.

NOTE: In the header, if you take a close look you will notice the the man on the left wearing quite the t-shirt. We can only hope it will make it into the full game. Maybe switch out the cat face with a bear or a duck in my opinion, and I will pre-order right now.
