Red 5 Studios will be attending PAX East this year and will be offering a multiplayer demo for their free to play FPS adventure game called Firefall.
The demo will be available during the entire convention which should allow for a lot of people to get their hands on the game and even learn what the game has to offer.
The full game will offer a full open world co-op campaign that will have character progression, tech trees, dynamic missions, and more. For PAX East though they want to give gamers a chance to see how army vs army competitive arena gameplay will work.
From all the screenshots I have seen it seems to be a cell-shaded experience with graphics similar to Borderlands. That is not a bad thing and their use of more vibrant colors is a welcomed change from the greys, browns, and tan colors that littered all of Pandora in Borderlands.
On top of that though seeing as Borderlands didn’t offer any multiplayer versus, and I dont coun’t the arena mode where you could face friends because it was pointless. So if the multiplayer offers a fun experience I can see this being a great game to download and play with a group of friends especially because its free-to-play.
Expect video of gameplay during PAX East from me because I love co-op gaming and it seems like a great experience with friends. If you like what you see then you will be happy to know that you can play it yourself this Fall.
