This community site ran by EA has been up for quite a while but I finally got the chance to check it out earlier today and link my EA account to it.
I am always hesitant to believe EA is no longer as evil as it used to be but everything over the past 2-3 years coming out from them have been original and innovative. Looking over at my games right now I find it ridiculous how many of them have the EA symbol on them like Mass Effect and Dead Space.
The Gun Club though is a good start to appeal to a different kind of EA fan that isn’t in for the sports. It allows you to link or create an EA account and link that to your gamertag or psn id and has an achievement system that is pretty simple right now but shows off badges for playing EA shooters.
I have badges in Mass Effect 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and soon I will have them for Dead Space 2 that comes out later this month. I even earned a badge by playing the Dead Space 2 demo.
On top of that all they offer rewards for these members the first one being that up until December 20th they were offering Battlefield for 20% off to all members with free shipping. A pretty good deal seeing as you just had to sign up for a free account.
I don’t know what the EA Gun Club will be able to offer in the future but it has potential and it is worth the 5 seconds it takes to set it up. So if you check it out today make sure to send me a friend request DEE CAZO.
