Hey all it’s MadMark back to let you know what I hate. I’m a gamer and one of the games that I am really into is World of Warcraft.(WOW) WOW is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) The best part about this game is the team work that is needed to get some things done.
The following is a true story only the names have been changed to…hold up I’m not going to give names, thats not cool. I just got my hunter to level 80 and was so happy that I could do the upper level randoms, the randoms are 5 man team dungeons that give really cool drops. The team I was in had a warrior, a priest, a deathknight, a hunter and my hunter. Yes there were two hunters in this party but mine had a cool pet – a big T-rex that I named Grimlock. We were doing really well when we killed a boss and that boss dropped a nice bow. At that point the players can need or greed that item, as the bow was made for a hunter we could need on it. Well he won the need roll. Now up to this point I was ok with what was goin on till he said “Hey the bow I have is better than this so I will sell it to you.” Really…. you know what I hate? A jackass that will need roll on something that they dont really need it. Oh wait it gets better. I ask him how much and he says “Only 300 gold.” The bow has a sell price of 10 gold….see thats a jackass thing to do right? So I told him I would give him 20 gold as that was twice as much as it was worth. He said “ok 500 gold.” At this point the others in the party were asking him to just take the 20 gold cause it seemed like a fair trade. Well he got mad and left the party.
So whats the lesson in this? Is there one or am I just nuts? The truth is that in WOW we don’t start off with great gear, we have to work our way up to it. As a true gamer I will help out those who need it if that means that I give up a bow worth 10 gold so a new level 80 can have it so be it. It’s for the love of the game that we play and should respect the players that are working to be as powerful as you are. Remember that power without perception is useless so don’t be a jackass that wants to screw over other players for gold, just do the right thing and help each other out.
