Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution is the fourth DLC pack for Borderlands.  It brings our treasure hunters back to Pandora for a new adventure. This time our foursome is tasked with stopping an army of Claptrap robots from taking over the planet. Not only do you have to face legions of Claptraps, but also they have been recruiting a following of humans and beasts you will have to deal with as well.  The Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution DLC released on September 28th for $10 on Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network.

Playing through Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution took about four and a half hours on playthrough one. That is to complete all of the missions.  Playthrough 2 is going to take you a little longer as the enemies are about 20 levels higher and take more effort to kill.  In addition to all the mission of the DLC there are a few achievements that require collecting parts from the Claptraps that you kill.  In playing through once I got about half of the needed collectibles for the achievements so I expect another 5 hours of fun Claptrap hunting to finish them up.

The Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution DLC is some of the funniest writing and dialog in the game.  Claptrap was always extremely funny throughout the main game so having a full set of quests that focus on him is great.  The missions were pretty similar to the ones from the rest of the game but because they focus on Claptrap they are even funnier than normal. The boss fights in Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution were especially funny because they bring back many of the old bosses but with Claptrapified version of their former selves.  Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC because of this and I look forward to play it again on playthrough 2.
