Harmonix is bringing Bob Marley and The Wailers album, Legend, to the Rock Band Music Store next week. “My father was interested in bringing reggae music to the entire world,” said Ziggy Marley, “and now that his music is coming to Rock Band, as the first reggae artist in the game, we are excited to open the doors to reggae music to a whole new group of young people.”
It’s already been announced that Bob Marley and The Wailers’ classic “Get Up, Stand Up” will be featured on the Rock Band 3 soundtrack, but next week, fans can get an early taste of Marley with an album of his masterpieces, when we bring Legend to the Rock Band Music Store.
“Legend (Album)” will be available for download Sept. 21 in the Rock Band Music Store, and Sept. 23, to commemorate 30 years since Bob Marley’s last public performance, the Marley family will come together for a tribute concert and event benefiting their One Love Foundation. With 100 percent of the proceeds from the evening going to support the One Love “Not-For-Profit” Foundation, 2,800 fans will fill the Benedum Theatre (formerly The Stanley Theatre, the site of Marley’s last performance), in Pittsburgh, for a journey back in time. In addition to Stephen, Damian and Julian Marley, special guests will perform at various points during the evening. Rita Marley, “The Queen Mother” herself, will be traveling all the way from her home in Ghana, as well as Marcia Griffith (I Threes), who will also be performing.
