This Week in Gaming : Sports and Spider-man Edition

(360/Wii/PS3/DS) Spider-man:Shattered Dimensions-I am a big fan of the Spider-man games ever since they started coming out with one for each of the movies. Basically it was GTA but you were Spider-man. I also remember a move where you could web up bad guys onto street lights and let them hang. This game looks even better putting you into the shoes of the high flying Spider-man and letting you travel to 4 different universes where you get to experience 4 different Spider-mans with all unique skills and abilities.

(360/PS3)NHL 11-I have said it once and I will say it again, the NHL titles are easily the best developed sports title in the genre. Although obviously less popular than Madden and FIFA this doesn’t stop the EA guys responsible for their game from creating the best experience year after year and one-upping their previous titles. If you don’t believe me just play the demo and play the Ultimate Team in NHL then play the Madden version. Along with the 6v6 online mode every year this game is worth grabbing. I have even convinced non-hockey friends to play it with me and loved it strictly for how fun it is to play as a team in a non-shooting game setting.

(PS3/360)Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2- A sequel to the  mind-bending flying title. Fans of this genre are a small niche but they don’t pass up any opportunity to jump in the cockpit and and start dogfighting online with friends.

(360/PS3)R.U.S.E.-Weird to see Ubisoft dropping two titles on the sameday but I am sure they are competing with Reach’s release next tuesday and the slew of games coming out this fall. This game looks like the best experience in terms of RTS games that you will be able to get on a console. I have seen stuff for this game over the years and if I am correct I think you can use your headset to command your troops. I highly suggest looking at videos and stuff if you are a RTS fan and haven’t heard about this game because this is a promising game.
