2K Games and Playboy have signed a rather interesting agreement which will see 50 classic Playboy vintage magazines show-up in the upcoming release Mafia 2. Virtual mobsters will be able to collect the magazines within the game and complete their 1940′s and 50′s cultured lifestyle. Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K had this to say about the agreement:
In partnering with Playboy, we are able to add a unique element of authenticity to the game by using vintage images from the magazine that illustrate the power of Playboy‘s influence on the attitudes and culture of that generation.
