For all you videogame DJ’s out there, you’ll be happy to hear that a second helping of DJ Hero is pretty much confirmed. Last week during an interview with kelowna.com DJ David Guetta had this to say about DJ Hero:
He’s trying to expand his sphere of influence — into video games. He’s the European ambassador for DJ Hero, the club scene’s equivalent of Guitar Hero. Players try to match the beats of two songs or scratch in time to the rhythm to earn points.
“I think it’s amazing, this game, and I’m going to work on the No. 2 version,” Guetta says. “It’s a really crazy game. After 10 minutes, you get the rush that a DJ gets after 10 years of practising. I have fun with it, but you know what? I can’t go to the maximum level. It’s too difficult for me. It’s crazy.”
Activision has yet to make an official announcement, but between the good number DJ Hero did and this statement from Guetta, my money is on DJ Hero 2 this coming holiday, and with already a big name working on the title you can expect even more top DJ mixes and a wider number of tracks this time around. As much as I loved the game the remixes done by the in house development staff were no where near the level of those done by the star DJs, having more top DJ’s on board from day one will only help the game, and since it has a track record I expect many more DJs to come on board. For those not familiar with David Guetta here are some of his more popular tracks you might have heard
