Call of duty Modern Warefare 2
With the 6th game into the Call of Duty Franchise, MW2 is a great FPS to play by yourself or with a group of friends. From the action packed campaign and spec ops mode, to the xbox live and split screen modes there is fun for all to be had.
Macbook Pro 15” 2.8 GHZ
Besides owning one myself the Macbook Pro 15” is great for all of a gamers needs who loves their Mac. With a a 128 mb shared GeForce 9400m and the 512 mb 9600 GT all is good in the gaming hood for most Mac games that I know of, plus the beautiful performance of the Macbook Pro, which leads into my next topic.
Boot Camp and Parallels
Most people who love Macs are scared to switch for the main problem of compatibility. Now even though I am a mac lover I will not be the first to say that this option is not perfect, but it is the best out there. Running bootcamp and windows 7 hails great performance out of the Mac hardware and you can play any pc game you want on your mac. Now if you don’t want to go through the hassle of restarting whenever you want to switch operating systems, you can use parallels with bootcamp. Doing this allows you to utilize the full functionality of windows 7 and bootcamp while in mac osx.
Star Trek DVD/Blu-Ray
In my opinion one of the best sci-fi movies of this year, with J.J. Abrams new movie “Star Trek” you can go where no man has gone before all over again, with this Casino Royal and Batman Begins style reboot to the Star Trek Franchise. For Trekkies, no need to worry, not only does this movie stay true to Star Trek but it has elements that trekkies would perceive one way while movie goers perceive it as another. So all in all a great Blu-Ray or DVD for this chrismas is Star Trek
Star Trek Online
One game that has been in development and looked as if it was heading for trouble by switching developers mid development. Star Trek Online will be released 2/2/2010. But if you pre-order now you get beta access in early January. If you preorder from amazon, you get a special limited edition “Bridge Officer” if you perorder from GameStop you get a special edition Original series style star ship. All of these being put on as bonuses for pre-ordering has put this game as my final game to this holiday gift guide.
