The zombie genre has been popular for a long time. Whether you have played the Resident Evil series,Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, or any other zombie game there is a certain essence that these games offer that people get hooked on. Even people who have never played a video game before appreciates a round table discussion about surviving a zombie horde.
With interest peaking with these great zombie-killing game titles along with the movies that have come out with the most recent being Zombieland which did much better than analysts suspected it is only natural that someone is taking advantage of this popularity by creating a first of its kind game listed under the genre of a Massive Multiplayer Online Zombie Survival Game.
The studio, Undead Labs, is led by Jeff Strain who has worked on Guild Wars,Starcraft,Diablo, and World of Warcraft and with a track record like that you can tell that they have good leadership behind creating a hopefully addictive gaming experience.
Very little information has been released as of yet but from reports on their site it looks like it will most likely be released for the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
“We’ll be developing for high-end game consoles. By today’s standards, “high-end” would include Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But the market can change rapidly so we’ll have to see how things look when we are further along in development.”
Hopefully new details keep being released with the more progress that is made so popularity can increase and this new genre is born.
