This Week in Gaming: Assassins Edition

After last weeks amazing launch of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2, its hard to say if there could be another release week that tops that.  This week might not have a single game thats going to break MW2′s newly set sales record, but this week definitely has a good number of possible buys.  First off Assassins Creed 2 hits both Xbox 360 and PS3.  AC2 builds off of the first game, and has many more in-game gameplay options.  Players will have a decent range of weapons, and other contraptions to make traversing the large cities much easier.
Another sequel release this week is Left 4 Dead 2.  L4D was a major hit last year, and using the same game mechanics, with an entire new story and some new weapons L4D2 should be looked at by all fans of the first game.
Now for the sports fans you have a couple choices, first for extreme sports, the latest Tony Hawk title hits stores.  Tony Hawk: Ride will offer gamers a new skateboarding experience as the game uses a rather interesting skateboard controller.  And for Basketball fans, EA Sports brings us NCAA Basketball 10.
And a sleeper hit this week will be the the God of War: Collection for the PS3. This single Blu-Ray disc game combines both God of War and God of War 2 on one disc.  The games are exactly like their PS2 counterparts, but the graphics have received a decent HD up-conversion.  Any fan of the series will want to check this set out, and those who haven’t played the game yet, nows the perfect time so you’ll be ready for next years release of God of War 3.
There’s also a handful of DS games and a few Wii games hitting this week, and as always help support VGrevolution by picking up these games here at Amazon.com.
