October was a rather strong month for software sales, yet all the hoopla over price drops to the consoles the prior couple months have dropped off. Console sales were down about 17% in October over the previous month, with the Wii being the only hardware seeing increased sales. Meanwhile software sales were fairly strong with many of the big releases starting off strong. Uncharted 2 took the top spot with 537k copies sold, on seating the prior months champ HALO 3: ODST, which tumbled down to 6th. Also very strong was NBA 2k10 with both the PS3 and XBox 360 versions breaking the top ten. As the holiday season kicks in it will be interesting to see how the current economy effects the next two months compared to last year.
