Black Friday Shopping Guide

Tis that time of the year, to stuff our faces with food, and trample people at local stores for some amazing deals.  The busiest shopping day of the year is Black Friday and retailers and e-tailer are pulling out all the stops.  While there at hundreds of deals going on right now, with the most happening Friday we aren’t going to cover them all and are just picking out some of our favorites.  If you want a full list of everything on sale head over here.

Lets start with consoles and handhelds;
It seems just about every retailer is offering some sort of bundle, system with 2 games.  The bundles however vary from retailer.  PS3 and Xbox 360 will both be getting 2 games bundled with the system for $299 at most retailers like Toys R Us, Best Buy and even Amazon.com.  Looking for a Blu-Ray player you might want to think about a PS3 bundle especially Walmart’s PS3 bundle which includes Infamous, Batman: AA, and The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray  .  Its not only consoles getting the bundle treatment, the Nintendo DSi is also getting bundle treatment with pre-loaded games.

Gaming Software;
While the list of games on sale is rather long there are some highlights.  Most retailers like Best Buy and Toys R Us, are having many newer titles, like Halo 3: ODTS, Forza 3, Madden 2010 on sale for a nice $34.99 on friday.  Again the software deals vary by retailer, but Best Buy seems to have a wider variety of new titles at discount prices.  And its not only console software on special, PC software is getting discounts as well.  Best Buy will have World of Warcraft for a cool $4.99, and online digital e-tailers like Gamersgate and Steam are running special pricing, up to 50% off.  Head here for Steam Holiday Deals.

And lastly Blu-Ray, DVD’s and other stuff;
Blu-Ray is finally getting a big year.  Firstly you can find players as low as $99.99 at Amazon.com and Best Buy.  While these are rather low end models for more decent models from Sony and Samsung you’ll be spending $149.99.  Also Blu-Ray and DVD’s are getting some nice price reductions, many DVD’s are getting discounted to around 5 bucks, and you can pick-up many  catalogue Blu-Rays for under 10 bucks.  Though TV series sets are seeing the biggest discounts mostly on Amazon.com.  Might be a good time to pick-up The Wire, All season of 24 or many other great shows.
Also for PC gamers, places like Newegg and Macmall are running some decent special already and more to come till Monday.

This year we have many shopping choices, and e-tailers are finally catching up with Black Friday and have some amazing deals.  Personally I’m planning on picking up a few Blu-Rays, maybe a PS3 bundle and some other odds an end through Amazon.com and other online stores.  Let us know in our forums what deals your planning on getting.
