7 Xbox Live Arcade Games Everyone Must Own

With the Summer of Arcade almost over, and with the explosion of arcade titles over the past year or so, the Xbox Live Marketplace is slowly turning into iTunes App Store.  So much stuff, that people don’t know what do get.  When I find myself overwhelmed on the Marketplace or iTunes I end up not buying anything at all.  So here are is a list of 7 must haves.

#1 Trials HD:  It just came out but it is by far one of the most easy, frustrating yet addicting games to play.  Its a great game that you can pour hours of time into or just pick up for a few minutes to kill time.

#2 Uno: The classic card game of my childhood. Its always great when nostalgic games get a revamp and brought back into our lives.  Uno is a game that is fun for the whole family.  Plus its great to get a few friends together on a Saturday night.

#3 Battlefield 1943:  A great game that has been around for ages, and has gone through many changes over the years.  Its a simple capture the point game, that looks stunning and offers land, air and sea battles.  With a slimmed down weapon assortment and a handful of vehicles it makes for an easy to play game that again helps the time fly right by.

#4 Geometry Wars: FUN FUN FUN.  Another game thats easy to play hard to master.  And when it pisses you off you just hit restart and play all over again.  Both version are fun, but I’m old school so I like the first one.

#5 Marble Blast: Another game thats simple to play hard to master and will bring many of us back to our elementary school days.  I remeber rolling those virtual marbles on old Mac IIe machines will in computer lab.  And now the game looks shinny and offers me some fun with friends or other Xbox Live junkies.

#6 Pinball FX: Now a days its hard to find pinball machines in the local arcades, but with Pinball FX I don’t have to leave my house.  With a few extra downloadable tables this game offers up family fun in a nice HD package.  WIth solid physics and easy controls this is another game that you will spend hours trying to top your friends high scores.

#7 Contra: All I gotta say is UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, SELECT, START.  Who didn’t know that code?  I love when classics can live one this many years later.  Who doesn’t have their old yearbooks close by and want to remember those wonder year?  It might not meet todays graphical standards, but it started a revolution.
